Susquehanna-Roseland
Running from Berwick, PA, past Wilkes-Barre, then East to Hawley and Southeast to Bushkill where the line crosses the Delaware river and ends in Roseland, NJ, the Susquehanna-Roseland power line project will help ensure continued safe and reliable electric service for customers in eastern and northeastern Pennsylvania and throughout the region.

Necessary to meet the growing demand for electricity in the Mid-Atlantic region, the Trans-Allegheny Interstate Line will be built from Southwest Pennsylvnia, extending to West Virginia, and onto Northern Virginia.
Smart Grid
A smart grid is a distribution system that uses digital technology to eliminate wasted electricity and improve reliability. Experts say that this grid in conjunction with ’smart meters’ will help consumers save energy and money by providing efficiency advice, real-time price information, and coordinating household electronics and appliances to turn on and off to take advantage of cheaper, off-peak, power.

Federal Stimulus
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 allocated $373 million to Pennsylvania to move toward energy independence. Federally investments of $43 billion will be targeted toward energy projects across the country, and of that $4.6 billion will be used in developing the nation’s smart grid.
