2.22.10 Plans for solar power plant grow
The Standard Speaker reports:
Green Energy Capital Partners, Conshohocken, has applied for zoning approval for a 120-acre reclaimed site near the original 134 acres the firm leased from Kovatch Corp.
John Curtis, president and CEO of Green Energy, said the solar park will be built in phases, with the second phase not starting until late 2011.
“We’re in great shape,” Curtis said. “We don’t anticipate any problems.”
Once it’s built, the facility will generate 20 megawatts of electricity, enough to power 2,900 homes.
Pennsylvania Solar Park will be the largest solar facility in the state and second largest in the country, although many large projects are being built or are on the drawing board, Curtis said.
